Rebecca Boohaker
Dr. Rebecca J. Boohaker, Ph.D., is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Southern Research. She oversees a portfolio of cancer projects centered on immuno-oncology and the development of targeted therapies for aggressive, treatment-resistant tumors. Trained in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Florida, she has deep expertise in tumor immunology, DNA-damage repair pathways, and preclinical drug development. Her research combines advanced molecular biology with in-vivo models to uncover new treatment strategies, particularly for triple-negative breast and pancreatic cancers. Dr. Boohaker also serves on the Medical Advisory Council of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama, helping steer patient-focused cancer research initiatives.
