Ranjan (Ron) Batra is the Vice President of Discovery Research and Translation at Lexeo Therapeutics. Previously, Ron served as the Senior Vice President of Research and Development at LocanaBio where he developed programmable RNA-targeted therapeutics for rare diseases such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Myotonic Dystrophy and childhood epilepsy. For his work at LocanaBio, Ron was awarded the 2019 Biocom Catalyst award for biotech leaders under 40 in California, 20 Under 40 Upcoming Biopharma Leaders of 2021 by Endpoints News, and Top 25 Health Care Leaders in San Diego by Healthcare Tech News in 2022. Prior to joining LocanaBio, Ron worked at Verily Life Sciences. Before his industry career, Ron worked on RNA mediated disorders at UCSD and University of Florida. Ron is an expert in RNA splicing and RNA-targeted therapeutics, and has published over 35 publications and patents in RNA biology and RNA therapeutics.
