Paul is an Assay Development scientist at 10x Genomics. Since joining 10x in 2019, he has worked to develop the molecular biology for the Flex family of single cell Gene Expression products. Paul has been heavily involved in expanding the application space for Flex, creating guidance for Custom Probe applications including Flex + CRISPR for perturbation analysis and Gapfill for SNP and mutation detection, and leading development of the Rat whole-transcriptome probesets for Flex and Visium HD. Before 10x, Paul completed his PhD and Post-doc at the University of Michigan, using single molecule fluorescence to study ribosome regulation and mutation detection.
