Munir Mosaheb
Dr. Munir Mosaheb is an accomplished immunologist, pharmaceutical drug developer, scientist, and mentor with over 15 years of experience spanning academia, biotech, and large pharmaceutical organizations. His expertise lies in platform and program development through to preclinical studies that support IND-enabling data packages.
Dr. Mosaheb currently serves as Director, Head of Peptide Biology at AbbVie, where he leads the company’s peptide biology strategy and oversees the scientific and operational execution of its peptide therapeutic programs. He works cross-functionally to drive innovation in the discovery and development of novel peptide-based therapies aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Prior to joining AbbVie, Dr. Mosaheb was Vice President, Head of Biology at Nimble Therapeutics, where he built and led the biology department and directed the development of oral peptide therapeutics. Before that, he founded and led a 23-member Translational Biology and Immunology team at Senda Biosciences (now Sail Biomedicines). There, he was responsible for all immunology research and scientific corporate strategy, successfully building the department from the ground up—designing lab spaces, establishing a vivarium, recruiting top-tier talent, and developing a global CRO network. His leadership was instrumental in advancing the company’s lead programs toward IND and in securing over $200 million in Series B and C financing.
Dr. Mosaheb has extensive expertise in immunology, immuno-oncology, lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology, nucleic acid delivery, cell trafficking, gene editing, oral delivery, vaccine development, molecular biology, and microbiology. He trained under Professor Richard Flavell at Yale University and completed his postdoctoral fellowship with Professor Ulrich von Andrian at Harvard Medical School. He holds more than 10 patents, including intellectual property that forms the foundation of an immuno-oncology company he co-founded with von Andrian.
