Mauricio Cortes, Ph.D. is Head of Discovery Science at Cellarity, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing Cell State-Correcting therapies. At Cellarity, Dr Cortes drives the integration of single cell biology, machine learning, and high dimensional data. He has shaped Cellarity’s differentiating approach to drug discovery through seminal work leveraging omics level data and computation to find cell state correcting medicines. Previously, he worked at CRISPR Therapeutics where he made key contributions to the first approved CRISPR medicine. He completed his postdoctoral work in hematology at Harvard Medical School, and earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Chicago
