Marcin Kowiel is Associate Director of Data Science at Ryvu Therapeutics, a clinical-stage drug discovery and development company focused on novel therapies in oncology. He is passionate about applications of AI, machine learning and software engineering and at Ryvu focuses on AI based improvement of lead optimization and biomarker discovery. Marcin’s academic background is in computer science, mathematics, and machine learning. He has a PhD in small molecule crystallography from Poznan University of Medical Sciences 2015. Following his PhD he worked in protein crystallography at the Polish Academy of Sciences before moving to the industry in 2018, initially as a cybersecurity manager, then transitioning to a target discovery startup in the genomics and cancer biomarker space and in 2023 to Ryvu.
