Marica Speranza earned her PhD from the University of Milan, before undertaking postdoctoral training at BWH. She then joined Dr. Freeman at DFCI, where she received the Barr Award and worked as junior faculty on immune evasion mechanisms in brain tumors. In 2018, Marica moved to industry and worked as biology and program lead in both TESARO and GSK, before taking the leadership of the IOC Boston team. In her current role at GSK, Marica leads the Innovation Team focusing on next generation of biologics, early pipeline development and BD. She is a recognized author, inventor, and AACR member.
