Jenessa Smith earned her PhD at the University of Pennsylvania under Daniel J. Powell Jr., developing novel chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and T-cell receptor (TCR) therapies to fight cancer. Jenessa was also on the team that initiated the first canine CAR T veterinary clinical trial in pet dogs with B cell lymphoma. Jenessa is currently the Director of Process Development at Arsenal Biosciences, leading a team to develop novel, non-virally edited integrated T cell therapies (ICT) for solid tumors including ovarian and renal cell cancers. Jenessa is passionate about cancer research and advancing cellular therapies for patients.
