Iulia Diaconu, Ph.D., is a distinguished leader in preclinical and translational science for cell and gene therapy, currently serving as Head of Preclinical and Translational Science at Volnay Therapeutics. With over two decades of experience, she specializes in bridging academic research and industry partnerships to advance next-generation immunotherapies.
Iulia has successfully led discovery teams through critical milestones to IND submission and Phase I/II clinical trials. Her expertise spans immunology, oncology, and viral therapies, including the development of clinical biomarker strategies. Previously holding leadership roles at ElevateBio and bluebird bio, she is a proven architect of high-performing teams and a creative problem solver in complex biotech environments
