Evan McCartney-Melstad, Director of Bioinformatics at Nutcracker Therapeutics, leads design and implementation of Nutcracker's cloud-based computational biology platforms. He is the principal architect and developer of Nutcracker's innovative RNA design platform, featuring custom optimization algorithms in an NP-hard design space, proprietary predictive AI models, an intuitive web interface, and a modern serverless architecture in AWS. Evan earned a PhD in biology at UCLA, an MA in conservation biology from Columbia University, and a BS in biology from Yale University. Previously, he was principal at McCartney-Melstad Scientific Consulting, LLC, as well as a staff scientist at Ancestry.
