Derek Chiang

Derek Chiang leads a global team of computational biologists at Bayer Pharma. He has been conducting in silico biological experiments since graduate school, where he earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from Berkeley. After Derek completed postdoctoral training in cancer genomics at the Broad Institute, he was an Assistant Professor of Genetics at the University of North Carolina, where he oversaw RNA-seq analyses for The Cancer Genome Atlas. In the past 12 years, Derek has led computational biology teams in oncology research at Novartis, Merck, and Bayer.
