Barbara Calamini, PharmD, PhD, is a drug developer with 10+ years of pharma experience in neurodegeneration research. She is a Senior Director at Eli Lilly, where she leads preclinical programs in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Previously, she served as Lab Head at Sanofi, advancing discovery programs in Huntington’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Her expertise spans target identification and validation through clinical development, encompassing small molecules, oligonucleotides, and biologics. She has received a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Pisa (Italy) and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Illinois.
