With over three decades of expertise in structural biology and protein engineering, Ashley has built multidisciplinary teams across academia and industry. A Cambridge University PhD graduate Ashley has published over 158 papers, and holds several patents in hypoimmune iPS cells, engineered antibodies, and stabilized protein biologics. As VP at Replay, a Genomic Medicine Biotech based in San Diego, he built a discovery platform for a universal, renewable, off-the-shelf, hypoimmunogenic iPSC-derived cell source for regenerative medicine and cell therapy, playing a leading role in the vision and strategy that culminated in a $55M seed round in 2022. He recently cofounded a stealth biotech startup aimed at revolutionizing transplant medicine using gene therapy.
