Spotlight Presentation: Olfactory Neurons as a Longitudinal, Molecular Window Into Patient Brain Biology
Human, longitudinal, neuronal data is absent in neuroscience due to the lack of direct access to the brain tissue. Crownlands creates such rich neuronal data by collecting olfactory neurons, CNS-linage neurons residing in nasal cavity which express 84% of brain-enriched genes and carry disease-relevant proteinopathy in a stage-relevant manner. Access to olfactory neurons at scale enables Crownlands to identify novel, potentially root-cause targets for neurodegenerative diseases, and to develop translational as well as patient stratification biomarkers.
